LET’S KEEP THE CHARACTER OF ISSAQUAH WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE
Mark loves the fact that despite all of Issaquah’s growth in the past thirty years, it still feels like a small town. We know that a town twenty minutes from Seattle and Bellevue will grow in the next twenty years. Mark knows our challenge is to make sure that growth does not change the unique and eclectic character of Issaquah we all know and love.
During Mark’s time on the Issaquah City Council and in the State Senate, he learned that the best leaders are not the ones who talk, but rather the ones who listen. Mark promises to be guided in the role of Mayor by the voices of Issaquah residents, not special interest groups outside of the city. Mark will prioritize protecting the natural beauty of Issaquah while providing congestion relief and public safety.
Mark promises to use his experience as a local small business owner (Ben & Jerry’s Issaquah) to make sure the city budget is not wasting any money. Mark also knows that some of our challenges impact not just Issaquah but our entire Puget Sound region. Mark will use his relationships from twelve years in the State Senate to make sure we have smart regional solutions that work for Issaquah residents.
